An Introduction to Seed Saving in Scotland

Presented by: Seeds of Scotland

Organic tea, coffee and cake provided. Please bring weatherproof clothing and a packed lunch if required.

Time and Location: 10am to 2pm - Meet in the lecture room (ask for directions at the Black Isle Brewery shop if unable to find)

During this workshop, attendees will dive into an presentation that introduces the basic terminology and techniques of seed saving. Followed by practical demonstrations, attendees will witness firsthand the methods used by seasoned seed savers. An interactive group discussion and Q&A session will encourage attendees to share their thoughts, pose questions, and learn from fellow enthusiasts. And remember, whether you're a novice or an expert in seed saving, there's something for everyone to learn. We celebrate all levels of knowledge and curiosity, so don't hesitate to join regardless of your experience.

If you have any seeds or seedlings, feel free to bring them along! The event will wrap up with a seed swap and share session, an opportunity for participants to exchange and add to their personal collections.

About 'Seeds of Scotland':

Seeds of Scotland is a Highland-based seed company. Our fields overlook the beautiful Cromarty Firth. We are committed to promoting a sustainable and diverse food system by offering locally grown seeds that are adapted to Scottish growing conditions. We grow our seeds using agroecological farming practices that prioritise soil health, biodiversity, and environmental sustainability.  Every seed is grown, dried, cleaned, and packaged by hand.

About Black Isle Brewery:

As pioneers in organic brewing, Black Isle Brewery is proud to produce world-class beers using only the finest organic ingredients. Our commitment to sustainability and biodiversity shines not just in our brews, but also in our serene gardens and environmental initiatives.

In order to make our courses accessible to as many people possible we are implementing a sliding scale pricing structure for those who wish to pay for individual workshops. You can chose to pay what you can afford from the three pricing options. We are grateful to those who choose to pay the higher charge to help make this possible.
