A practical workshop helping participants understand how to keep their vegetable gardens productive beyond summer, with advice on what to sow, when to sow it, which crops can survive the colder months and how to protect vegetables from the Highland weather.

Discover which vegetables to sow and grow for autumn and winter harvesting, when to plant them, and how to make the most of beds as summer crops finish. We will explore succession sowing, crop rotation, growing under cover and simple ways to protect crops from cold and wet weather.

We will also look at preparing beds for winter, harvesting and storing vegetables, and planning ahead for early crops next spring.

With practical advice tailored to the Highland growing season, you'll have the opportunity to create a plan for your own vegetable garden and discover how to make better use of your growing space throughout the year. Suitable for beginners and gardeners with some experience.

Meet in the Workshop Classroom at 9.30am for a 10am start - 1pm (ask at the brewery shop if unable to find).

Organic tea, coffee and cake provided*.

We reserve the right to cancel workshops if not enough participants are registered for the workshop. In this case, all workshop fees paid will be fully refunded.
