Black Isle Brewery
On our little organic farm, deep in the Highlands of Scotland, we are occasionally thrown a curve ball. For all the beautiful sunrises, sunsets, snow-laden winters and glorious summer skies, we do get the occasional breath of wind.
Recently, several of these winds reached over 80mph, leaving us without power and with 10 trees down. As best as we tried -with candles, dogs on treadmills, brewers on treadmills - it didn’t quite cut it and we nearly lost 15,000 litres of beer, but through skill, hard work and a large dose of pure luck, we were able to save it - and we're proud to share the fruits of our labour (although we are keeping the firewood to ourselves).
Introducing Unplanned Outage - a glorious Euro-hopped pale. Dry hopped with Callista and Ariana; light, bitter and immensely drinkable.
We're hosting a workshop at the farm where you can learn everything you need to start your vegetable garden this year - from selecting the right compost, sowing seeds, to potting on, planting out and protecting your seedlings to get them through the changeable spring weather.
Whether you have a polytunnel or a window box, our Head Gardener Alex will take you through each step of the process to give you the best chance of producing a healthy abundance of vegetables this season.

Our General Manager Mike attended The Lochaber Careers Fair this weekend to represent Black Isle. The event offers people of all ages, experience and education levels the opportunity to speak to representatives from a wide selection of local employers, all in one place.
It's a great way to meet the employers who provide the opportunities to live, work and enjoy Lochaber, the Outdoor Capital of the UK.
