Some interesting stuff about Black Isle Brewing Co;
- Black Isle Brewing Co. makes world class beers using the finest organic ingredients – that means the malt and hops are grown without artificial pesticides and herbicides, as nature intended.
- We aim to become the UK's Premier Organic Brewery.
- Among our many awards, recently we have twice won the Soil Association Organic Food and Drink awards in 2009 and 2010 and SIBA Champion Beer of Scotland in 2009.
- We ship throughout the UK and Europe.
- Our new £1M state of the art brewery is located close to Inverness on our own traditional organic farm.
- Our brew length is 30 bbrls, or 50 Hl, and we are capable of producing 100 x 50L kegs per day or 120 x 9 gallon casks. We have also installed a new Czech built bottling line that can sterile filter and bottle 2500 x 500ml or 3000 x 330ml bottles per hour.
- The water comes from our 300ft borehole drilled deep into the heart of the Black Isle bedrock.
- Our farm stock (including Molly the Jersey house cow) eat the spent grains from the brewery and graze the fields to produce more barley for brewing.
- We make fresh natural beer – from the ground to the glass.
- We are not looking to change the world but we do want to make it a better place – our mantra is evolution not revolution - SAVE THE PLANET DRINK ORGANIC - welcome to Black Isle Brewing Co.
